Unforgettable Memorial Weekend Stay in the Smoky Mountains – Fun, Relaxation, and Scenic Beauty
We had an amazing Memorial Day weekend at the Hickory Haven log house tucked around the Smoky Mountains.
The cabin was beautiful, cozy, and well-equipped with everything we needed. Inside, the rustic wood finishes gave it a warm, welcoming feel, and the space was spotless and well cared for. One of the highlights for us was the awesome game room—it had a pool table, a classic Pac-Man and other video games that kept both the kids and adults entertained for hours. It added such a fun, nostalgic vibe to our evenings.
After hiking during the day, we’d come back and relax in the hot tub on the deck.
Overall it was incredible experience. I had to pull my kids out on the checkout day, as they did not want to leave, due to they feeling at home.

We had a great time at Hickory Haven! It comfortably accommodated seven of us, ages 4-1/2 to 71! It was very clean and spacious and we enjoyed spending time outside on the two back porches, whether watching the sunrise or hanging out at night looking at the stars. The view was stunning.! We also enjoyed playing pool & old school arcade games on the lower level and using the hot tub after a long day out exploring. Justin and Shane were extremely responsive anytime we had a question or needed help locating something in the house. This location is extremely convenient to both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. We visited Dollywood twice, The Island at Pigeon Firge, and Ripley’s Aquarium in Gatlinburg. Our favorite meal was at The Local Goat. We will definitely come back and look forward to our next stay at Hickory Haven!

Hickory Haven was a beautiful place. Lots of room. Beds slept great! It’s nice that all bedrooms have their own bathroom. Game room was lots of fun, especially pool table. Decks are amazing Shane & Justin are so nice to talk to & very helpful & very responsive quickly! I would recommend Hickory Haven!

Smoky Mountain Holiday staff

Shane and Justin were AWESOME!! This was our second time vacationing in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area and their property was a beautiful gem. The house was immaculate upon entry and the property included everything one would need for a vacation HOME. Entertainment such as board games, arcade machines and the billiards. Household items such as dishwashing pods, extra trash bags, seasonings for your meals and even extra linens. We will be staying here again on our annual trip.

Correspondence with the host, via texts or emails, were always promptly addressed.
The cabin was fantastic. My 13-year-old grandson thoroughly enjoyed the video games and pool table. My daughter and I loved sitting in the hot tube after a full day of activities in Pidgeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Even the simple experience of seeing a bear cub climb a tree was exciting.
If I had to choose one thing that was a deterrent, it was the local construction. However, after the devastating fire they experienced in 2018, it is wonderful to see the area recovering!!

5 stars – A fantastic stay!
I had an absolutely wonderful experience staying at Shane’s place. From the moment I booked, communication was seamless—friendly, prompt, and super helpful. The home itself was spotless, beautifully decorated, and exactly as described (if not better!). Thoughtful touches like, fresh towels, toiletries and a guidebook really made it feel welcoming and comfortable.
The location was perfect and the neighborhood felt safe and peaceful. I appreciated the clear check-in instructions and how easy everything was.
Shane was a truly exceptional host, going above and beyond to make sure my stay was enjoyable. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone visiting Gatlinburg and would love to stay again in the future.

Wow, we couldn’t have loved this place more! So cozy and comfortable. Has absolutely everything you could need and more. Beds so comfy, super functional kitchen, both decks were amazing, hot tub was delightful, 3 full baths were awesome, the wood cabin feel is just beautiful, and you are literally nestled at the top of a mountain! I even grew to LOVE the drive up and down the mountain, it’s a teeny bit daunting at first but then you get the hang of it and can’t wait to venture out and back each day. Owners are so responsive and welcoming and helpful. We will come back in the future because 1 week in Gatlinburg is not nearly enough!

It's was everything we expected. Loved the bedrooms on their individual floors, was great for us (3 couples). The cabin was extra clean and we had everything we needed. The hot tub was so worth it, it snowed for 2 days and we enjoyed the hot tub with snow falling around us. Highly recommend and will would definitely book again!!

Shane was a great host and the cabin was wonderful! My family loved spending time in the game room, playing the arcade games, and spending time on the hot tub! Cabin was clean and the door code was easy to enter, we will be back again!

Couldn’t have asked for a better cabin AND host! Felt very homey and enjoyed every minute we were though, so much so we got engaged in gatlinburg! When we got there the pack and play was broken and the host had a new one delivered first thing in the morning. Would DEFINITELY recommend to anyone and definitely would stay again!

Awesome house with an awesome host. Super fast responses from before we even booked the house. Gave us tons of stuff to do, but even just hanging out around the house was a great time. The arcade in the basement is such a cool touch. Downtown is an easy 10 to 15 minute drive and the grocery store was about the same. The house is in a great and easy to get to area. Overall would totally rent this house again. 11/10 experience!
